The Lemon Tree

The hotel is a listed building so expected some character which it had. We went for my fathers 90th and had a meal there also. the staff were absolutely lovely, the food was exceptional and the atmosphere was great. Staff allowed us to put up some decorations for my dad which was lovely.

All of the staff were very friendly, extremely helpful and they were really what made our stay such an enjoyable one. Everyone we encountered during our stay, from the breakfast waiters, chefs, reception, bar staff and our waitress in the evening, did a wonderful job of representing The Lemon Tree. The food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious and, despite being incredibly busy, we never waited long for food or drinks. The dinning room was large with a few smaller rooms off , The bedroom was one I had stayed in before so had requested this room it was good .we had clean towels and the room tidied every dayalso bottles of water coffee and biscuits replenished .dinner in same room as breakfast The dinners were lovely and plenty on the plates the staff were very helpful and friendly . Bed was very comfortable .

Every member of the Lemon Tree team were superb, they were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had our dog with us and he was made to feel very welcome and was well looked after. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed and even had a fridge and microwave. We had asked for a room downstairs with easy access to outside for the dog and we were given a room that suited us perfectly. The bathroom was small but had a lovely hot shower. The breakfast and Sunday lunch were superb, we would stay again just to eat in the restaurant.

Friendly staff. Rooms were smaller but met our needs and the beds were really comfortable. Breakfast which was included had a variety of tasty options. Easy walk from the train station and also into town where a variety of pubs and restaurants can be found. I would stay here again.
